Igniting the Flame: A Newcomer's Journey to Canadian Licensure

The story I'm going to share is about my Journey to Canadian Licensure. Being a new comer, I was met with the stories of how it was impossible to match. I was even more worried as to how to write these exams successfully, seeing that there weren't lots of information about the Canadian pathway, compared to licensing exams for other countries. However, I found that working in groups helped ignite my fire and surrounding my self with positive and supportive people kept the fire burning in me. I became confident enough to take the exams, and I took them all successfully within my first year landing here.

Whilst I'm still applying for the CARMs 2024 match, I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. Having people share their stories and leaning on each other, goes a long way in ensuring good mental health and wellbeing which reflects on the health care system. A doctor with support is a healthy doctor, nothing lights up the spark like having positive and helpful people around you.
